1. 1Online application. A cover letter on why corporate finance law and why Davis Polk, with your academic grades and experience.
2. 2Interviews. Around two hours in total: two half-hour one-on-one interviews with partners on your experience and cover letter, then a third with an associate.
3. 3Vacation scheme. One week for a group of 12 law students, with real trainee work and a team exercise that ends in a mock client meeting; the firm fills its intake solely from the scheme.
4. 4Assessment day. Held in the London office; the firm recruits directly for its two-year training programme from it.
