Most large commercial firms put an aptitude test at the very start of their recruitment process, before a human reads your application. The Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal, a Pearson TalentLens product, is the most common: it measures how you handle inference, assumptions, deduction, interpretation and the evaluation of arguments. Situational judgement tests come up alongside it at many firms, presenting workplace scenarios and asking which response would be most effective.
