Paul Hastings Adds Financial Restructuring Duo Bevis Metcalfe and Kieran Sharma in London
Paul Hastings has hired Bevis Metcalfe and Kieran Sharma as partners in its financial restructuring practice in London. Metcalfe advises on corporate credit, restructurings, cross-border insolvencies and distressed M&A, with a creditor-focused practice representing banks, CLOs, multi-strategy asset managers and private credit funds in in-court and out-of-court restructurings and capital solutions transactions. Sharma joins from Sidley Austin, where his practice covered liability management transactions, Part 26A restructuring plans and schemes of arrangement, and distressed M&A.
Why this matters
The simultaneous hire of two senior restructuring partners signals continued competitive pressure in the London lateral market and growing demand for distressed debt and capital solutions expertise. The creditor-side focus of both hires reflects rising private credit fund activity in European restructurings.
On the Ground
The hire activates financial restructuring, distressed M&A, and cross-border insolvency work. A trainee would expect to assist on lender-side advisory mandates, draft creditor intercreditor agreements, and track in-court restructuring timetables.
