Legora acquires UK litigation AI start-up Wexler in fifth acquisition this year, integrating fact-verification technology used by Clifford Chance, Goodwin, and Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer
Swedish legal AI platform Legora has agreed to acquire Wexler, a London-based litigation intelligence start-up, in its fifth acquisition since March 2026. Wexler's technology automates the most manual stage of disputes work: extracting, verifying, and organising discrete facts from case files that can contain more than one million documents, enabling litigation teams to build evidence chronologies and map complex disputes more efficiently without human document-by-document review. Wexler was founded in 2023 by Gregory Mostyn and Kush Madlani and has built a client base including Clifford Chance, Goodwin, and Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, alongside in-house legal teams. The company raised a $5.3 million seed round led by Pear VC, backed by Seedcamp and TheLegalTech Fund, and reported revenue growth of eightfold over the past 12 months alongside net revenue retention of 400 percent, a measure showing that existing clients are expanding their spend significantly. The company's 18-person engineering team will form the founding staff of Legora's new London engineering hub, which opened last month. Legora, valued at after extending its Series D funding round by in May 2026, has now raised in total. Its acquisition programme this year has also included Canadian agentic legal AI platform , Melbourne regulatory platform , Swedish legal research start-up , and commercial real estate AI platform . Financial terms of the Wexler deal were not disclosed. Legora's CEO framed the rationale in terms of agentic AI (AI systems that take multi-step actions autonomously rather than simply responding to individual prompts): as agentic systems take over more fact-gathering work, the volume of fact queries will multiply, and Wexler provides the infrastructure to handle that scale.
