Watson Farley & Williams is a leading international firm for shipping, energy, and transport finance, acting for major banks, shipowners, and energy companies on complex asset finance and cross-border transactions. The firm has a particularly strong presence in the Greek shipping market and in offshore and renewable energy finance.
Culture & Values
WFW's training contract has an unusual shape: six four-month seats instead of the standard four six-month ones, and every trainee spends at least one seat abroad, with four months in an office such as Athens, Bangkok, Dubai, Frankfurt, Paris, Singapore or Tokyo (some go overseas twice). Legal Cheek named it Best Law Firm for International Secondments in 2023. The firm began in 1982 as a shipping breakaway from Norton Rose, and maritime and energy work still define the training.
