1. 1Paralegal application. Stewarts recruits its trainees exclusively from its own paralegal pool, so the route starts with a paralegal application. Applications are screened by the recruitment team and reviewed with Rare Recruitment, a contextualised recruitment tool.
2. 2Paralegal interviews. The first round is with the Early Careers Senior Advisor via Teams. Successful candidates complete a written task at home and then attend an in-person interview with the hiring team.
3. 3Training contract application. All paralegals are eligible to apply regardless of length of service, with the window open from 1 to 31 March. Stage one is an application form, a contextual recruitment questionnaire and an in-tray exercise, blind marked by the HR team using a points-based system.
4. 4Drafting and partner interview. Stage two is a drafting exercise and an interview with a panel of partners. Training contracts are offered on overall score, experience and performance as a paralegal, with approximately eight offered each year starting on 1 October.
