Nvidia Reports $96bn in Quarterly Revenue, Doubling Year-on-Year, as CEO Declares AI Has Reached Its 'Inflection Point'
Nvidia reported on Wednesday 26 August 2026 that it generated $96bn (approximately £71bn) in revenue during its second fiscal quarter, more than double the figure from the same period a year earlier and above Wall Street's consensus expectation of $92bn. The company's data centre division alone accounted for $89bn of that figure, a year-on-year rise of 117%, reflecting the continued scale of AI infrastructure investment by technology companies globally. CEO Jensen Huang declared that 'AI has reached its inflection point,' describing the global buildout of AI computing infrastructure as proceeding 'at full steam.' The company guided for revenue of $108bn in the third quarter, above analyst forecasts. Nvidia shares rose approximately 4% in after-hours trading following the results. Nvidia has used its financial position to fund some of the AI companies that rely on its chips, providing investment to OpenAI, Anthropic, and SpaceX. The company has also worked with BlackRock, Blackstone, KKR, Apollo, Brookfield, and Goldman Sachs to assemble a $500bn pool of capital for AI infrastructure financing, and inked a deal to build an 8-gigawatt data centre in Ohio. Nvidia is described as the world's most valuable company, with a market capitalisation above $5tn.
